Frozen 3: Next Sequel Might Be On Summer
There is a huge possibility that Frozen 3 might be set on real summer time. As Frozen and Frozen 2 were set in Winter and Autumn.
Frozen and Frozen 2 happened during winter and autumn, respectively. So there is an undeniable theory suggests that the next sequel Frozen 3 could take place during the real summertime. Disney still has not discussed the future plans of the upcoming Frozen sequel according to the reports. But with success achieved by Frozen 2, the third installment is still a huge possibility. Frozen 2 conquered the box office as the highest-grossing animated film in history. It also surpassed original Frozen’s record-breaking $1.28 million release. Within both films, Frozen universes showed us, Winter and Autumn. So Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa’s (Idina Menzel) journey from uncertainty to self-acceptance. The season of summer will symbolize the next stage of Elsa and Anna’s story within Frozen 3.
Frozen and it’s sequel mostly happened around Elsa’s reconciliation with her powers. It made her the central figure even though Anna resolved the conflicts. That was very obvious in both movies. If Frozen 3 happens during the summer, they might switch the roles of Anna and Elsa’s. Anna can move to the forefront of the plot and coming into her own as the new ruler of Arendelle. Summer is also a time for nature to blossom. It can help Elsa’s connection to the elements to grow stronger. Also, allow her to reach her full potential as the fifth spirit. She is the mediator between the natural world and human civilization.
Traditionally, summer represents the season of romance. So it is the perfect time to address what many Frozen fans were wondering since the advent of the franchise. Fans were always wondering about Elsa’s sexuality. When Frozen first debuted in 2013, the LGBTQ+ community has identified with Elsa’s story arc. She’s the first Disney princess who is not looking to find her prince. She doesn’t conform to societal norms and experiences a personal journey of self-acceptance.
Disney has said anything about that Elsa is gay or not. So fans have been advocating for Disney to address Elsa’s sexuality since 2016. The hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend began also trending at that time. Instead of treating it straightly, Frozen 2 had a scene in which Elsa and Honeymaren, a Northuldra woman, had a brief moment. If Frozen 3 is aiming for the season of love, it would be the perfect opportunity to reveal Elsa’s sexuality. That way, Disney can include finite LGBTQ+ representation.
So what do you think? Will Frozen rotate around seasons?
