Jeffrey Morgan as Flashpoint Batman Might Appear in The Flash Movie

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, as Flashpoint Batman has rumored to appear in the upcoming Flash movie. Ezra Miller’s Flash solo movie has been in a very long time in the development period. Recently we got the confirmation that Ray Fisher’s Cyborg will appear in it as well.

However, even since then, rumors about the movie tackling the beloved Flashpoint comics story arc have been persistent since the very beginning. It was also rumored to be titled “The Flashpoint.” But now, one exclusive rumor declares that Flashpoint is a lock for the movie. It also suggests that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be back to reprise his role as Thomas Wayne. But this time, he will be Batman. The Flash will race to theaters two summers from now.

Morgan is famous for his guest-starring TV roles. Also Zack Snyder’s Watchmen, and he currently plays the villain like morally grey character Negan on AMC’s The Walking Dead.

The latest rumor is coming from our friend Thomas Polito at The Cinema Spot. According to him, The Flash’ movie is close to resuming pre-production. Also, a part of that will be casting the Thomas Wayne Flashpoint version of Batman. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is possibly getting the role, but as per reports, formal talks have not yet begun. However, it could happen at any time, according to our sources. Morgan previously cast to the role of Thomas Wayne in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

His return is significant. As it seemingly confirms, the movie will at least partially adopt the Flashpoint storyline. In Flashpoint, the Flash goes back in time to save his mother and accidentally changes the whole timeline. It is a world where Bruce and Martha Wayne were killed that fateful night in the alley instead of Thomas and Martha.

Reverse Flash

Last September Jeffrey Morgan has said that he loves to reprise the role of Thomas Wayne. He had a small flashback scene in Batman V Superman opening as Thomas Wayne.

“Look, I don’t know, I mean if there’s a chance that would ask me, I’d say yes,”
“I think the Flashpoint story is, it’s my favorite story. I would love to do it. But, you know, DC is DC and they’re, you know, it’s a constant… it seems like they’re always kinda switching up who’s running it and what they’re gonna do. So hopefully, what I’d like to see is a little continuity with DC, have them get on the track, and then, man I’d be honored and love to do it more than anything.”

Current State of Flash Movie

Andy Muschietti is the latest director working on the project recently. He confirmed earlier this year that he would make a Flashpoint. But it will be different from the original Flashpoint storyline. It confused fans that this is leading to some iconic storylines like Thomas Wayne’s Batman might not be in the cards for live-action.

“What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it,” Muschietti explained. “The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”

Release date of the Flash is currently set on 2nd July 2022.
